After Buea, the exercise will continue in other major cities in Cameroon.

Five girls have stood tall at the pre-selection of Miss Beach auditions that took place in Buea on April 4, 2015. Miss Mouketey Lynette, a student of Political Science and Administration at the University of Buea, convinced the jury of three. She was closely followed by Essenen Dicka, Tagne Diebo, Agbortarh Nadine and Obolia Oluchukwa (Nigerian), from second to fifth in this order.

The jury focused on oral expression in English and French, reasons for participating and the future plans of the pageants if they are crown winners.

There were 42 contestants for the crown, and they had to undergo a series of conditions. The criteria were as follows: Body movements such as gestures, aesthetics in make-up, hair do, body structure and complexion and attitude such as smiles. This criteria was the requirement for the first round of selections in which only 10 girls had the opportunity to make it to the second round of pre-selection.

The organiser of the event, Yann Anoko, General Manager of Seme Beach, told Cameroon Tribune that the same exercise shall be done in other major towns between April and May 2015 in which young girls, especially University and High School students, will reveal the best of themselves.

He stated that in years to come, the competition will extend to some parts of Africa like Nigeria and Congo. The turn of Douala is April 11 and shall be followed by Ngaoundere on April 17.

Prospective pageants will march on the podium in Yaoundé on April 18 with Dschang having the last lap on April 25, 2015. The organizers say the date of the final competition shall then be been set after all the pre-selection exercises.

The event that marked the beginning of the 7th Edition of Miss Beach auditions 2015, took place in Buea on Saturday 4th April, 2015, started in 2009 with the aim to promote African beauty through young female students. It equally enables them to express and reveal themselves with greater opportunities.

The Seme Beach Hotel eneral Manager said it is a forum that offers relaxation and leisure opportunity to the public while promoting partnership. The occasion brought together artistes, companies, fashion designers, modeling agencies and media organs.

The Confederation of African Football voted on Tuesday to remove an age limit on its officials, paving the way for Issa Hayatou to stay on as president.

All 54 countries at the organisation’s congress in Cairo agreed to change the statutes which previously stopped officials serving past the age of 70.
It was proposed Caf should bring its rules in line with those of world football’s governing body Fifa.
Hayatou, 68, will now be able to stand for another term in office in 2017.
His current mandate ends in two years and he is seeking four more years until at least 2021, when he turns 75.

The rule change follows success in recent years in adapting the statutes to limit potential opponents to Hayatou’s rule.

Caf previously brought in a rule that candidates for its presidency can only come from the ranks of its own executive committee, a tight-knit club closely controlled by Hayatou. Fifa does not have the same restriction.
Cameroon-born Hayatou, a former athletics official, is the longest serving senior member in Fifa structures, where he acts as vice-president, and has had few serious challengers for power in Africa since first winning election in 1988.

Gabon were named on Wednesday as the hosts of the next African Nations Cup finals in 2017.
They beat rival bids from Algeria and Ghana in a vote by the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) executive committee at a meeting in Cairo.
Gabon replaces war-torn Libya, who withdrew last year as 2017 hosts because of the civil conflict raging in the country.
It will be the second time that the country will stage the finals after co-hosting the 2012 edition with neighbours Equatorial Guinea. Gabon will use four venues for the 16-team tournament, set for January 2017.
They will be Libreville and Franceville, which were used in 2012, plus Port Gentil and Oyem where the stadiums will be ready in 14 months, Gabon Football Federation officials said. All three candidate countries made presentations to the CAF executive committee on Wednesday before the ballot was taken. CAF did not make details of the voting immediately available.
CAF have already designated the hosts of the 2019 (Cameroon), 2021 (Ivory Coast) and 2023 finals (Guinea).

Gabon--2017 African Nations Cup Host

El Watan implies that Hayatou has ‘preferred to reward neighbours Gabon after assuring 2019 tournament will be held in his native Cameroon.’

ALGIERS – Algerian press on Thursday slammed their football federation and Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Issa Hayatou after Gabon was chosen to host the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 2012 co-hosts won Wednesday’s CAF vote held in Cairo against opposition from Algeria and 2008 hosts Ghana.

“To obtain the organisation of a competition as prestigious as the CAN is a State affair and the Algerian presentation was not sufficiently supported at political levels,” daily El Watan wrote.
Other papers accused Hayatou, who has been in power since 1988, of “betraying” and “stabbing” Algeria.
El Watan implied that Hayatou had “preferred to reward neighbours Gabon after assuring the 2019 tournament will be held in his native Cameroon”.

Algeria Soir were also critical saying it “was a sporting and political defeat for Algeria” while others cried “scandal” and a “historic slap in the face” for the country”.
The 2017 Nations Cup was initially set to be hosted by Libya before civil war made it impossible to host the tournament.
The Ivory Coast won the 2015 edition in February after edging Ghana in a penalty shootout in Equatorial Guinea.

Algeria--press cry foul after losing right to host Africa Cup of Nations

Cape Town – Former South African goalkeeper Andre Arendse insists that Cameroon should not scare Bafana Bafana in their AFCON 2017 qualifiers.

According to the Business Day Live, the former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper believes that Shakes Mashaba’s side should not feel threatened by The Indomitable Lions.
“Cameroon don’t scare me in that group. And I know they’re one of the top African football countries,” he said.
“But I’m looking at our record against them, and our recent performances, and who we can potentially take on from an African perspective.”
The now SuperSport analyst added that Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba should feel less pressured with such a group as they tackle Gambia and Mauritania in their other qualifying encounters.

After surprising the music community by dropping his second full-length LP a week before its scheduled release, Kendrick Lamar then allowed the public to consume To Pimp A Butterfly with practically no interviews describing its writing process. In other words, he let the music speak for itself before he spoke about it, and MTV News was who he chose to break the silence with. In a four-part video series, MTV's Rob Markman (and a clear friend to Kendrick) sat down with the rapper to get the first word on what some of TPaB's most poignant lyrics.

Part one has Kendrick elaborating on his album title choice (1:41), which is actually a nod to his inspiration Tupac Shakur. He then goes on to explain "Wesley's Theory" (3:20), the first track off the LP and one of Kendrick's most personal tracks. Find out why the song also inspired the album cover, as well as the creation of the chest-pounding anthem "King Kunta" (7:20) and KL's ghostwriting days (9:10) by pressing play above.

Considered the turning point in the album, "u" brings up all of Kendrick's mental health issues he's been struggling with privately to center stage. After considering whether or not he should leave the dirty-laundry song on the final tracklist, he green-lighted it because of the album's theme: leadership. Believing in using his celebrity for good, it only makes sense to Kendrick that he be honest with himself and rap about depression and suicide for other listeners going through the same thing. At 5:40, he delves into his writing process even further by telling the story of his trip to South Africa and how it inspired the record, transitioning into the intense inspiration behind "How Much a Dollar Cost": panhandling.

"The Blacker The Berry" contains some of Kendrick's most cutting lines about race to date, and it's hard not to hear -- and feel -- the anger that comes from his verses on that track. Starting at two minutes into part three, Kendrick states that he's not speaking TO the community...he IS the community. Every line off that track comes from a real place he's been in, and he wants you to know that. Look out for an explanation as to why he included a live version of "i" on the record at 5:38 as well.

In the final part of the interview, Kendrick talks TPaB's last track -- "Mortal Man" -- and its thoughtful chorus When s*** hit the fan, is you still a fan? Tying back to the album's theme of leadership, as well as Tupac's influence, KL talks the rare interview tapes with 'Pac himself that appears at the tail end of "Mortal Man." Watch it above, and get a real sense of who Kendrick Lamar is as a performer, activist, and most of all: a songwriter.

I think I've had enough
I might get a little drunk
I say what's on my mind
I might do a little time
'Cause all of my kindness
Is taken for weakness

Now I'm FourFiveSeconds from wildin'
And we got three more days 'til Friday
I'm just tryna make it back home by Monday mornin'
I swear I wish somebody would tell me
Ooh, that's all I want

Woke up an optimist
Sun was shinin', I'm positive
Then I heard you was talkin' trash
Hold me back, I'm 'bout to spaz

I'm FourFiveSeconds from wildin'
And we got three more days 'til Friday
I'm tryna make it back home by Monday mornin'
I swear I wish somebody would tell me
Ooh, that's all I want

And I know that you're up tonight
Thinkin', "How could I be so selfish?"
But you called 'bout a thousand times
Wondering where I've been
Now I know that you're up tonight
Thinkin' "How could I be so reckless?"
But I just can't apologize
I hope you can understand

If I go to jail tonight
Promise you'll pay my bail
See they want to buy my pride
But that just ain't up for sale
See all of my kindness
Is taken for weakness

Now I'm FourFiveSeconds from wildin'
And we got three more days 'til Friday
I'm tryna make it back home by Monday mornin'
I swear I wish somebody would tell me
Ooh, that's all I want

FourFiveSeconds from wildin'
And we got three more days 'til Friday
I'm just tryna make it back home by Monday mornin'
I swear I wish somebody would tell me
That's all I want
